Talon Swords Robot
Have insurgents ever tried to steal any of the Talon/SWORD tactical robots in combat?
I just saw it on Future Weapons, and it just seems like it would be easy for 2 or 3 people to rush it from different angles, tip it over, and steal it. Anybody have any experience with it?
There are two problems with trying to steal one of the robots being deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The first is that they are usually deployed to deal with IEDs. Most insurgents probably would not willing run towards and IED in an attempt to steal a robot.
The second problem is that they robots I have seen are not deployed all by themselves. There are usually several dozen soldiers watching while it is operating. Anyone attempting to steal it would likely be shot.
A third issue that just now comes to mind is that it would be of little use without the control box.
