Swords Ireland

Miss Northern Ireland’s Cherie Gardiner launched Habitat for Humanity Northern Ireland and Meningitis Research’s exclusive new fundraising event to Northern Ireland. The search is now on to find 300 daredevils to be the first to ‘Take a Titanic Leap’ for charity.

The brand new event will take place in March 2010 at Titanic’s Dock and Pump-House located at the Northern Ireland Science Park in Belfast. Both charities want YOU to don your harness, enter a specially built Pod and get hoisted 100 feet into the air! You’ll then one by one jump feet first out of the Pod hurtling towards the ground, stopping with just a few feet to spare after the most amazing adrenaline rush of your life!

Representatives from the charities said “This is a brand new, extremely exhilarating event for all the daredevils out there and we are delighted to be able to bring it to Northern Ireland. We are calling upon all the thrill seekers out there aged 12 years and over to ‘Take a Titanic Leap’ and make this a fantastic fundraiser!”

Mervyn Watley, Director of Corporate Real Estate and Facilities reiterated Miss NI’s delight by supporting this exciting new project at Titanic’s Dock & Pump-House. Mervyn said “It is great to see another first time event on this site and if freefalling isn’t your thing please think about taking the Titanic Guided Tour. Titanic’s Dock and Pump-House are supporting the charities by donating 50% of all tour proceeds taken on the day.”

Don’t miss out! Places are strictly limited, to book your place please call Danielle Smyth at Habitat for Humanity on 44 2890243686 ext 228.

We welcome contributions from people whom for whatever reason feel an affiliation and kinship with her memory and story and we very much look forward to bringing you ‘The World of Titanic from the heart of Belfast’.
